ADOPT NINA!
Nina was pulled by two volunteers from Stamford Animal Control, who are now co-fostering her and absolutely rave about her. She spent over two years at the shelter, overlooked due to what we call “black dog syndrome.” Sometimes people passed her by for being a little spunky, and other times simply because she is a small black Staffy.
She weighs about 48 pounds and is five years old—headed toward middle age, so no puppy crazies but not a senior either. Nina is the perfect dog for someone looking for companionship. She is playful, but also perfectly content relaxing next to you (or right on top of you 😉) while you watch TV. She’s just as happy lying by your feet while you work, as long as she gets her energy out with a couple of brisk walks or some fetch or tug. After that, she’ll settle right in as your best buddy.
The best part is that if you need to leave her for a few hours, she does great in her crate and sleeps quietly through the night. She’d also be thrilled to snooze in a dog bed next to you—or even in bed, if you let her. She loves car rides and swimming at the beach.
Nina would be happiest as your “one and only.” She is a true companion dog who absolutely adores people. While she doesn’t enjoy other dogs getting into her space, she is perfectly fine walking past them on the street or sharing a stroll with a friend who has another dog. She could easily be your sidekick, going everywhere with you. She’s good on leash, enjoys her training, and loves nothing more than fetching a ball in the backyard.
To set her up for success, a volunteer who loved her at the shelter has donated her adoption fee. Nina is currently being fostered in Stamford, Connecticut, but she can be adopted anywhere within a reasonable driving distance on the East Coast.
Please consider opening your heart and home to Nina—she is so ready for her forever family.
